Our meetings will take place each Wednesday from 1500-1615hrs. Yes, it’s at the tail-end of the hottest part of the day, so please keep that in mind and make sure you bring water/hydration. Bees typically forage from 9am-4pm so we want to be in the hives when a lot of our bees are out looking for pollen and nectar.
Our focus is the practice of mindfulness and being present in the activities that we do. We’ll start our meetings with mindfulness practice then dive into the hives to observe and learn.
- Introductions, check-ins, announcements (5min)
- Mindfulness practice (10min)
- Hive time! Opening the hives, checking brood patterns and hive activity, monitoring hive health. (40min)
- Closing thoughts (10min)
Before attending your first meeting you’ll need to read over our guidelines and watch the following four videos. Once you’ve done that please email Ari Allen (program manager) at ari.allen@us.af.mil to let her know you’ve completed the videos and read the guidlines and you’re ready to come out and learn.
